[Info] K-dramas top DVD sales in Singapore

KOREAN dramas are scoring well with Singaporeans. All ten drama serials that made it to the best-selling chart of local video retailer Poh Kim last month are all imports from Korea.

A couple of long-standing titles on the chart include the 2008 drama Cruel Temptation, and the 2009 drama Boys Over Flowers. These have remained saleable, even after they have been broadcast on local TV channels.

More recent titles like IRIS and Cain and Abel topped the chart right after they hit the shelves last month.

In particular, Korean political drama IRIS has proven its popularity with viewers here. The 20-episode series has almost everyone raving about it, including more mature male viewers who have never been fans of K-dramas.

So what is the appeal of a drama which centres on the thorny issue of Korea reunification? Catch RazorPop's review of the blockbuster and decide if it's worthy of your time.
